Supervision Contract 2026

This contract serves as verification of clinical (counselling) or non-clinical supervision between the persons named on page 3.

Purpose of supervision:

  • To monitor and ensure the good practice between the supervisee and their clients
  • To support and promote the professional development of the supervisee
  • To ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the ethical framework of the supervisee’s membership body (eg BACP/NCPS) (or organisation if non-clinical)

Method of supervision:

  • 7-eyed model within a collaborative framework, any other model as may be agreed.
  • Having consideration for working towards and normalising a formal relationship with opportunities for growth and resourcing
  • Providing feedback and evaluation

Practicalities:

  • We will meet either face to face or online, using Zoom©, for the required one and a half hours each month (unless agreed otherwise) as outlined by the BACP guidelines
  • We will ensure that we are working in a quiet confidential space, with no interruptions, such as phone calls etc
  • Notice of 24 hours or more should be given to cancel or change the appointed meeting time.

Roles and responsibilities of the supervisee:

  • To come to supervision adequately prepared
  • To maintain ethical guidelines in accordance with their membership body or organisation
  • To ensure professional indemnity insurance is in place and to provide proof, where required
  • Ensure client confidentiality when presenting clients
  • To consult supervisor or designated contact person in the event of a safeguarding or ethical emergency
  • Emergency contact details will be provided to the supervisor/trainee supervisor
  • Both will be encouraged to write and keep confidential notes, which will be kept securely

Roles and responsibilities of the supervisor:

  • To provide a safe environment for the benefit of the supervisee and to manage the session
  • To examine case formulation, interventions and approach presented by the supervisee
  • To intervene where the client’s welfare is as stake
  • To ensure ethical guidelines and professional standards are maintained and to obtain appropriate consultation when necessary
  • Maintain appropriate supervision notes
  • To offer appropriate challenge, feedback and support
  • To breach confidentiality under safeguarding or malpractice circumstances
  • To breach confidentiality if a court of law orders supervision sessions notes to be made available for legal purposes (subpoena)
  • To comply with professional body audit or investigation
  • To attend regular supervision of supervision work undertaken.

Data Protection

I will hold your personal and confidential information in a way described by the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).  You may request to see any notes I make about our sessions together.  I undertake regular supervision of supervision. Your details are not shared, but code numbers/letters are used.

I am also registered with the Information Commissioners Offices (ICO.org.uk) because I keep some electronic records (telephone number etc). My clinical will is located on the Clinical Will App with my trustees having access to basic personal information such as individuals name, usual contact phone number and email address.  My trustee is either my supervisor or my supervisor of supervision. The clinical will app information will be accessed in the event of my being unable to contact clients or supervisees myself. ( https://clinicalwill.app )

About me

I am a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (bacp.co.uk).  I work to the BACP Framework for the counselling profession which is aimed at assuring good practice.  I take regular supervision and undertake regular continued professional development (CPD).  I am also a member of the NCPS

My counselling method is called Humanistic Integrative, this means that my approach is to consider you as a whole person and I use a person-centred approach to integrate a range of useful methods from other modalities.  I work in a trauma informed way, and I am also a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) therapist

Payment, cancellation and missed appointments

Payment is to be made at least 24 hours in advance of the next booked session for it to take place.    Cancellation of less than 24 hours will be chargeable at the full rate. This Contract will be reviewed at least annually.  You may make payments by bank transfer to Mrs M L Taylor; Account no 09411043; sort code 09-01-27.

The following rates apply at the time of this contract and will be reviewed at least annually:

                        £xx.00 per hour

                        £xx.00 per 1.5 hours

Between sessions conversation for client matters (eg safeguarding) over 15minutes will be charged as a portion of the 1hr rate.

Notification of a rise in charges will be sent via email to the supervisees usual email address, at least 28 days before they take effect.
